Payneham Road is the arterial that runs north east out of the Adelaide CBD, and number 132 sits on it in Stepney. That means almost nobody arriving here has to navigate back streets: you are either coming out of the city along the road, or coming back down it from the Payneham end.

Coming from the city, it is 2.6 kilometres out. Kent Town is the last suburb you pass through, 760 metres short of the door, and Hackney sits just off to the west at 630 metres. If you work in town, the studio is on the way home rather than a detour, which is most of why the weekday appointments run into the evening rather than starting in the morning.

Coming from the north east, Payneham is 2.5 kilometres up the same road, with Payneham South at 2.3 and Trinity Gardens at 2 kilometres. Maylands is the closest of that group at 1.3 kilometres. All of it is a straight run with no turn worth describing.

From the north, St Peters is 1.1 kilometres away, Joslin 1.8 and Evandale 1.6, all of them crossing down onto Payneham Road. From the south east, Norwood and The Parade are 1.1 kilometres, and Beulah Park 2 kilometres due east. College Park, at 510 metres north west, is the closest suburb to the chair other than Stepney itself.
